Testimonials

Lincoln Karate Clinic has been a solution to many of the obstacles I have faced when trying to become a healthier person. Obstacles such as, having a demanding job that includes a lot of travel, making time for myself without the guilt of neglecting my family, and staying motivated about following through with exercises.

Over the years, I have found many exercises that I enjoy like yoga a long distance walking, but it's difficult to find many yoga classes that fit into my schedule, and you have to walk for a long time to see significant results. With Lincoln Karate Clinic, there are classes that I can attend every day, so even on weeks that I travel, I can still hit 2-3 classes. And since it is such an overall endurance and strengthening work out, I accomplish much more that I can with walking alone, and in less time. As a bonus, I feel more secure when do travel. Being a woman, and traveling almost exclusively by himself for work, can add extra safety concerns. With my training I feel that I am more prepared to avoid potential hazards, or defend myself if prevention isn't enough to keep me out of harm's way.

Like many people, there doesn't seem to be enough time in the day to fit in work, family and sleep, and with other exercises that I have tried kids are left out. At Lincoln Karate Clinic, it's a family affair. Even though we are working different levels and different classes, it is a shared commitment to exercising as a family. Ultimately, we have finally found a guilt free work out that reinforces the importance of exercise, respect and discipline that is difficult to tackle consistently within a family alone.

Have you ever quite a work out routine? Because I have! Even when I know in my head that regular exercise pays off with stress reduction, weight loss, an increase in energy, and better overall health and longevity. I have given into temptation to stay at home and nap, or been frustrated by my lack of grace, or plentiful weight, so attending classes with the physical elite has also sidelined my good work out intentions in the past. Lincoln Karate Clinic offers a solution for that too. This dojo has a real sense of community feeling about it, I look forward to going to class and seeing friendly faces and everyone at every fitness level is encouraged by each other, the elite and those of us working towards being able to do all the stomach exercises. It also doesn't hurt that I can do more, and more each time and some of my clothes are getting down right baggy, and on weeks when I plateau with my weight and loss of inches, I refocus on the goal of testing for my next belt. (And I have to share with you that I have not been “in touch” with my abs for decades, and now, we have been reintroduced, and the layer surrounding them, is SHRINKING!)

Overall I feel very fortunate that I have found Lincoln Karate Clinic, I know our investment is paying off enhancing my and my family's well being.

It has been a wonderful time in karate for my first 2 years.  I am a white/black belt and I really enjoy going to class.  I will be testing for my Black belt June 16th, 2007.  It is very fun for me and my mom.  It has helped me and my mom both physically and mentally.  Sensei (teacher) is very good to all his students.  My favorite part of karate is the kata (form) and dodge ball.  I plan on becoming a teacher someday and if you come I know you will enjoy it.

Thanks for reading this!

What to say about LKC-It's a fantastic place to be a part of! LKC would not be what it is though w/out Scott Walls and Sue Wehrwein. Their individual attention to every single person who walks through the door makes you makes you feel like you are at home.

As a working mother, being able to go to a place where you can lose and find yourself is very rewarding. LKC has helped me w/ self discipline, confidence & motivation to help w/ every day situations.

My children are also members of LKC-To see the changes in my children but also other kids/teens is remarkable-Scott Walls is an amazing teacher/mentor. Not only does he teach self-defense/discipline-but takes the time to incorporate manners to help w/ parents, school & everyday situations. The individual attention & patience he has for the students is remarkable. Every student feels special and it's nice to have another person to care about the success of your child.

-If looking for a positive change-I recommend LKC-It's a fun experience w/ special people to work w/ it really makes a difference!

“Sensei Scott Walls is the only martial arts teacher I've found to be a “complete” instructor. He maintains consistency in his leadership, ethics, discipline and physical training.”

“Karate,” what a great way to get in excellent shape. I've noticed I've been a lot more calm and focused! And with my three children that are also in karate, I'm more patient. Karate is a great family oriented time as well! I recommend karate to a lot of people I know, because they want change and karate will change the way you feel, look, and act. I am now a Brown/Black belt. I noticed a big change in the way I act in a lot of situations at work or out and about! As of now I would probably never quit karate, I love to feel the way I do! And so would you!!!"

“I am amazed by my son's transformation. Throughout this past year of attending Lincoln Karate Clinic, he has matured tremendously. I see the qualities of character I always new he possessed. Attributes such as caring, responsibility, and respect which before lay dormant, are now part of his everyday life. Sensei Walls is dedicated to educating youth not only in the art of karate, but also for the positive essence of which it embodies.”

Dear Mr. Walls,

I just wanted to send a brief letter to let you know how much we love hosting your group at Laser Quest. Everyone is well behaved and always looking to have a good time. They also have tons of patience when things aren't running the smoothest.

The crew here loves being the marshal in their missions because they are always following the rules (which makes the marshal's job much easier). It is almost a battle as to who is taking them into the arena every time.

We hope to continue this great relationship between our groups and can't wait to have you return again and again. If at any time you have any questions or would like to book another event, please feel free to call us! Again, Thank You!

Sincerely,
Shawna Holloway, GM

Skyler, our grandson, just turned 6 when he joined the Lincoln Karate Clinic. We were very skeptical about him joining because Skyler has Aspergers syndrome (AS) and Sensory Integration Disorder (SID). AS is a mild to high functioning end of what is known as the spectrum of pervasive developmental disorders, (in the autism spectrum). He has three categories of dysfunction; Social Skills, Language for communication purposes, and certain behavioral characteristics. He also has ADHD which has many of the same characteristics of AS.

Scott Walls of the Lincoln Karate Clinic was recommended to us through a counselor at Skyler's school. Scott is a nationally certified Mental Health counselor and a Behavior specialist for Lincoln public Schools, besides having a National Martial Arts Certification. After talking to Scott, we felt very comfortable enrolling Skyler in the Lincoln Karate clinic knowing that Scott is a trained specialist in these areas.

Skyler has been a member of LKC since July 2005. In this time Skyler has met many challenges and has made progress achieving goals in areas such as; self-control, self-discipline, self-esteem, focusing, making good choices, and developing good character. Theses are the areas that are helping Skyler to become the best he can be. Being a student at LKC is helping him to meet these goals.

Thank You Scott Walls and LKC
